Special Interest Holidays

Naturalis offers Special Interest Holidays with a wide range of activities in Malaysia and Philippines. From photography and birdwatching to yoga and cooking, you can indulge your passion in beautiful and exotics locations.

If none of our sample trips meet your expectations and you would like to plan your own special interest holiday, please fill out a custom tour plan form to tell us your interest, the things that you want to see and do and the places you want to stay.

Through the Lens

We offer special travel program programs for those who wish to be part of a photo tours with professional wildlife photographer or videographer and for those who are confident of their ability and are looking for professional logistical support.

Naturalis will help you to plan customized expeditions to remote areas. We offer logistical advice and support to photographers, film crew, scientists and conservation body.
We can tailor an expedition to your specific requirements and do any necessary research. This can be done either as a complete package to include everything from permission to logistic or for just certain elements of your trip.

Frequently asked questions

How to Book a Tour?

Browse our collection of tours to find the perfect one for you, or request a tailor-made. Once you have selected your preferred tour and you get convinces about everything, then you can proceed with the reservation.
When making your reservation the following details will be required (these can be provided via email):

Name and Surname
Passport Number
Nationality
Date of Birth
Departure Date and Time
Return Date and Time
It would be very helpful if you could let us know about any dietary or mobility issues or requirements.

Once the tour has been booked and confirmed, we will send you a confirmation email with a detailed day by day itinerary and proforma invoice.

Upon confirmation, we require a deposit of 35% of the total price to secure the booking. The balance is due one month before the tour commences. Please refer to our terms and conditions.

After the full payment has received, we will send you the payment receipt and vouchers/travel documents by email.

After the trip, you will be required to fill out the travel evaluation form. Your feedback is extremely important for us since we are constantly trying to improve our services and we would be very grateful if you could share your experience with us.

How far in advance should I book the tour?

All travel arrangements should be booked at least 1 month advance. For larger groups or special interest tours, we recommend booking with a few months’ notice.

What's the difference between private tour and join-in tour?

Independent Tours or Join-In-Basis Tours are those where the daily tours are conducted locally in a group with a guide but the group may change at each location. Private Tours or Exclusive Tours are conducted with private vehicle and private tour guide.

How many people there are in group tour?

We always try our best to keep the group small, about 5 – 8 passengers per tour guide. However, it may be possible that in the peak season group could be up to 10 -15 passengers per guide.

Will I have to pay more as a solo traveller?

All our tours require a minimum of 2 participants. Single travellers are encouraged to join one of our existing groups whenever if possible. You are required to pay the supplement for single room.

Can you book air tickets?

We are unable to book the air tickets for your international flights. We can only book your domestic flights.. The international flights need to be booked from the country of origin.

When should I buy the air tickets?

Book your air tickets after your tour arrangement is confirmed.

Do you cater special dietary requirement?

We always try our best to accommodate all dietary requirements, but in some remote places it can be very difficult to guarantee this service.

I am a travel agent. Can i book the tour for my clients?

Yes, we work with travel agencies and we are happy to offer a commission on bookings you make with us. The amount of this commission depends largely on the volume of business.

Do you require any deposit to secure the booking?

We require a 35% balance payment to secure the booking. The remaining balance of 65% is due 1 month prior to the departure date of the tour.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay with either Credit card direct or Paypal and bank telegraphic transfer.

Can i pay with any currency?

No. We can only accept payment in American Dollars, Euro, British Pound, Australian Dollars, Malaysian Ringgit and Philippine Peso.

When the currency you’re paying with is different from the default currency of the country of the tour, we convert your amount automatically. The exchange rate used will display on the proforma invoice before you confirm your booking.

Do you issue any confirmation document or voucher?

About two weeks prior the tour, we will send you an email with a copy of the Confirmed Travel Itinerary with all the pick up times and our contact numbers along with the hotel vouchers. You may also receive the copy of the air tickets, if you booked the flight with us.

What happen if i have a problem during the tour?

Contact immediately our customer service. Our helpline is available 24 hours a day , 7 days a week.

Do you offer discount for kids?

We offer discounts for kids under 12 years of age. Infants are free of charge.

Do I need to buy my own travel insurance?

Yes, we recommend buying your travel insurance for your own protection and peace of mind. Only a couple of adventure tour packages featured on this website are inclusive of local insurance which covers emergency evacuation by helicopter.

Can I request for an early check-in?

Check-in times can vary from hotel to hotel. Generally, they are between 12.00 and 14.00. If you arrive earlier they may let you check in if your room type is available. If the room is not available, you can store your luggage at the front desk/luggage room and head out to explore for a couple of hours.
If you wish to book the early check in, then you can do so by booking an extra night at the same hotel.
