This 4-days adventure in Tanjung Puting National Park Kalimantan, will give you an insight into orangutan behaviour during the rehabilitation process.
The famous research site at Camp Leakey established by Dr. Birute’ Galdikas, is the best opportunity to observe the orangutans up close in their natural habitat while they eat, play and rest.
Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun you will be driven for about 30 minutes to Kumai port to begin a journey by private Klotok to Tanjung Puting National Park.
The “Klotok” is a traditional two-storey wooden river boat specially built to navigate through shallow waters and narrow sections of the river. The friendly boat crew consists of Capitan, cook and tour guide. The Klotok is very simple but equipped with mattress with blankets, pillows and mosquito nets. A very basic toilet is located at the back of the boat.
Enjoy the scenery and admire the surrounding nature as you sail up river.
