Georgetown, named after King George III of England, is known for its well preserved colonial buildings. Hear stories of the city’s past and present as you drive past its famous landmarks including Fort Cornwallis, Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, Clan Jetty and Street of Harmony where mosque, kovil, temple and church sit along the same short stretch of road.
Next, visit the Colonial Penang Museum for a glimpse into the state’s rich heritage and make stops at Wat Chayamangkalaram Siamese temple and Dhammikarama Burmese temple to take in their striking architectural style. Later, pay a visit to a favourite local chocolate shop for an opportunity to browse some of its finest products.
